Jardine Headnet

The design for this headnet is in Ray Jardine's Beyond Backpacking. It's cake...you end up with a circle on top and a panel hanging in front and down the back. The panels are sewn together until your shoulders, then open for the rest.

It weighs 1.5 oz and packs to the size of a tennis ball...definitely worth not having to put DEET on my face!

You can wear it alone for some protection, or under a jacket for complete head protection.
I also hung it from my ridgeline...it worked while I layed in it but I haven't tried sleeping like that yet. I'd just have to keep the rest of my body under the quilt.

That's my new Vario hammock stand, too.

I just clipped it on the ridgeline. I think I could put something to weight one side down and flop it over the ridgeline and it would stay...I'll keep playing with it until I find a way to do it without adding any weight.
